1. What is a determiner? Name its two
chief classes.
Ans:  A determiner is a word that determines what a noun or a pronoun refers to and in what way.
         Its two chief classes are - specific determiners and general
determiners.

2. Name five sentences with specific determiners.
Ans : The following are the five examples of sentences with specific determiners --
a. The man came to our house yesterday.
b. This is the book I am looking for.
c. At last the villagers caught the tiger.
d. I want to know the story.
e. He is the best of all. 

3. Write five Sentences with general
determiners.
Ans: The following are the five examples of sentences with specifi determiners --
         a. I have a book.
         b. He is eating an Apple.
         c. An old man is coming.
         d. There is a school in the village.

4. How many specific determiners are there ? List them in a tabular form.
Ans: There are three kinds of specific determiners are there as mentioned below with determiners:-
       1. The - The definite article.
       2. This, These, That, Those, Such,
       Same, Certain - demonstrative
       adjectives.
       3. My, Our, Your, His, Her, It's, Their -
       possesive adjectives.

5. Which is the commonest specific determiners? Write it's five uses at least.
Ans: The is the commonest specific determiner.
        It's five uses are as follows :
       👉.It's used before a noun which is
       only one.
       👉 It's used before superlatives.
       👉 It's used before a noun which has
       become definite having been already
       mentioned.
       👉 It's used before a singular noun
       that points to a general features.

(a) What are demonstrative determiners? How many are they in all. Name them.
Ans: The determiners which refer to nouns in a specific way are called demonstrative determiners. They are 7 (seven) in all. They are as follows : this, that, these, those, such, certain and same.

(b) What are possessive determiners? How many are they in all? Name them.
Ans: The determiners that indicate that a noun belongs to someone or is related to someone in some way are called possessive determiners. They are seven in all. They are as follows : my, our your his, her, its and their.

Exercise 5. Correct the following sentences:

2. Cow is the commonest milk animal.
